JIM DUFFY still hopes to add a targetman forward to his Morton squad despite seeing his main strike stars return to action in recent weeks.

The Cappielow boss was left without a recognised attacker earlier this season when summer signings Andy Barrowman and Stefan McCluskey were both ruled out through injury.

In their absence, defender Thomas O'Ware stepped up to the plate at the other end of the pitch before the arrival of 20-year-old frontman Declan McManus on loan from Aberdeen gave the Greenock side a spark in the final third.

Barrowman marked his return after seven weeks on the sidelines with a goal in the 2-1 weekend win over Airdrieonians.

With McCluskey also available again now and McManus in fine scoring form, Duffy suddenly has options in attack.

But the Greenock side's boss remains on the lookout for a more physical option to give his side a focal point as he prepares for today's League One clash with leaders Dunfermline at Cappielow.

Duffy confirmed: "I'm still looking for a striker. We only have one targetman striker in Andy.

"There are not many teams in the world who play without that kind of player.

"Most teams, even at the top level, play with a focal point in attack and look to base their play around him.

"So, it would be good to have another option in that area.

"We're not in any desperate hurry to get someone in but I am still looking around and have spoken to one or two people. So we will wait and see."
