JIM DUFFY insists he won't get carried away by Morton's cup performance against Partick Thistle as his side get set to return to League One duty.

The Ton pushed the Premiership Jags all the way in midweek, but spurned a couple of gilt-edged chances as Thistle battled their way to a 1-0 win.

Having taken six points from their first three league outings, Morton travel to Forfar this afternoon aiming to remain within touching distance of leaders Ayr United.

Duffy said: "You have seen games before against higher level league teams and players lift their game, they understand that the concentration levels need to be better.

"Then you go into a league match and sometimes you don't get the same level of performance because the intensity of the game or atmosphere is not the same.

"We are not going to kid ourselves and think this could be a springboard to something spectacular, that is not the case.

"What it does tell me is that when we have everyone playing, concentrated and doing their jobs, that we are a decent side.

"We are a decent side at this moment in time with a bit of potential.

"We want to take it into the game with Forfar, a totally different kind of game, it will be really tough up at Forfar.

"Over the last month the players have performed admirably.

"We had extra-time last week [against Berwick], we went up to Peterhead, we were up against a Premiership side [on Tuesday] and the fitness levels were great, we kept going right to the final whistle."
