Darian MacKinnon will miss Hamilton's next four games after being banned for hitting out at Dundee United's Paul Paton.
MacKinnon was sent off during Hamilton's 2-2 draw at Tannadice after receiving two bookings in the first half.
He has accepted a two-match ban instigated by the SFA compliance officer for "violent conduct by striking an opponent with an arm or elbow". It is understood the SFA acted after seeing video footage.
MacKinnon already had a one-match ban because of his red card and received an additional game because it was his second dismissal of the season. The 28-year-old midfielder will miss games against Kilmarnock, Celtic and two against Motherwell.
