Queen's Park manager Gus MacPherson has urged his players to rain on Albion Rovers' title parade this afternoon.

If the Spiders fail to beat Arbroath today and Rovers win their game, the Coatbridge side would be crowned champions.

Victory for MacPherson's side would mean the champagne has to stay on ice for Rovers and the Queen's Park manager wants his team to stay on the winning trail until the end of the season.

"We had a great performance last weekend and we want to build on that," he said.

"We want to keep our own momentum going.

"There is a lot of confidence within the team and we want to tap into that, keep it going, especially because it looks as though we will be competing in the play-offs.

"All we can do is answer the questions that are asked of us and keep doing that between now and the end of the season.

"We need to focus on our job. We want to finish the season in the strongest possible position and the best way to do that is to win our games."

Ryan Hynes will miss the trip to Arbroath while Sean Burns could also miss out because of work commitments.

And with the play-offs looming, MacPherson has also told his squad that they are playing for their places.

"We have a small squad but within that group is a decent amount of competition," he explained.

"It is good that we have had because it can bring out the best in players.

"I don't think there is any doubt that we are now thinking ahead to what the play-offs might bring and for games like that, effectively cup finals, you want to be putting out your strongest hand.

"We are definitely thinking ahead.

"As a manager I think you are always looking forward. The players know that they cannot afford to take their foot of the gas now.

"They have been excellent all season, they have been relatively consistent over the piece and now this is where we can get our reward.

"It is a case now of trying to make sure that we finish off as strongly as we possibly can."
