HENRIK OJAMAA is not sure whether he will be around long enough to see Ian Baraclough's long-term vision for Motherwell become a reality.

But the Estonian is determined to make the most of his time at Fir Park and bring short-term success to the Steelmen.

Ojamaa's loan deal from Legia Warsaw is due to expire in a month's time, with the tricky forward poised to return to Poland at the start of February.

Despite a slow start on his return to Lanarkshire, he has become an increasingly influential force for Motherwell, particularly in recent weeks under new boss Baraclough.

After impressing again in Motherwell's 1-0 win over Partick Thistle, Ojamaa refused to be drawn on his future and the possibility of staying in Lanarkshire for longer.

But he has made it clear that, no matter how long he stays at Fir Park, his philosophy on football remains the same - improve, improve, improve.

"It's the back end of January my loan deal is due to finish," explained the Estonian international. "I've not really thought about it much. I'll let my representative handle that and we'll see what comes of it. I don't want to get overly involved in it at this moment in time, I just want to focus on training and the games.

"Every manager has a different approach, but I think we have worked and trained well under him. We have also managed to transfer that over on to the pitch and get results which has been important.

"Obviously, in terms of performances, there is still quite a long way to go, but the gaffer will have a chance to implement his style and we will see more of that in the coming weeks.

"I always enjoy football. Of course you want to win the game, I am really appreciative that I have this job and I enjoy it every day."

While Motherwell's form has taken a turn for the better under Baraclough - courtesy of two wins from two that has seen them pull seven points clear of bottom side Ross County - Ojamaa and his team-mates are well aware there is still a long way to go.

John Sutton's penalty was the difference at the weekend, with the Jags enjoying plenty of the ball as Well hung in late on.

"It was a very important three points. We've managed two wins in a row now, so it's a great feeling," he said.

"We know the performance was not as good as it could have been or as high as it should be, but at the end of the day, it's a results business. We'll take the three points and think what we can do better next time round.

"You just have to focus on your next touch and your next action. You can't really think 'I'm not seeing a lot of the ball here'.

"Of course, as the type of player I am, I'd like to be on the ball a lot more, but we are all working together as a team to get results and at the moment we are managing to do just that."

Focus for Ojamaa and Well now turns to the New Year's Day Lanarkshire derby against Hamilton Academical at New Douglas Park.

The Steelmen have failed to get the better of Alex Neil's side this season, going out of the League Cup on a penalty shoot-out and being hammered 4-0 at home on Premiership duty just a few days later.

It is a previous conviction record the man known as The Sheriff is quick to shoot down. He said: "We will be going to Hamilton to win the game, that's for sure.

"They got the better of us last time. I played in the game. But it doesn't mean anything going into the match on New Year's Day.

"We will treat it as the very important game that it is, and our target is to make it three wins in a row."
