Inverness Caley Thistle have been handed the united support they asked for at their League Cup final against Aberdeen.

The Scottish Professional Football League has released ticket details for the Celtic Park clash, which give Caley Thistle fans a full section behind one of the goals.

Inverness supporters will be housed in the lower tier of the Lisbon Lions stand, with further tickets in the upper tier available if they sell out their initial block.

Aberdeen fans, who have an initial allocation in excess of 30,000 tickets, will be housed in the main stand, north stand and Jock Stein stand.

Inverness had branded the original plan "unacceptable" after their support was due to be split across the main stand and Lisbon Lions stand with Dons fans beside them in each stand.

Aberdeen had told their supporters about that provisional plan but the SPFL did not release the finalised seating allocation until Wednesday afternoon.

Tickets for the March 16 encounter cost £25 for adults and £10 for under-16s.

Inverness declared themselves satisfied with the revamp.

In a statement released by the SPFL, Inverness chairman Kenny Cameron said: "We are very happy with the allocation agreed, which provides exactly what our fan base was looking for, and thank both the SPFL and Aberdeen for accommodating our wishes.

"The final on the 16th will be a special day out for fans of both clubs and we look forward to a wonderful occasion."

SPFL chief executive Neil Doncaster added: "We believe the agreement reached represents the best possible and fairest result for fans of both clubs and will also help us create a spectacular final for those watching on television across the breadth of Scotland and beyond.

"We thank both clubs for their positive participation in the process and invite fans to visit their respective club's official website for further details on purchasing tickets."

A spokesman for Aberdeen said: "We are absolutely delighted with the allocation agreed with the SPFL and our friends at Inverness Caledonian Thistle and look forward to enjoying the backing of a big and noisy Red Army on March 16."
