DARREN YOUNG insists there is still plenty more to come from Albion Rovers despite guiding his side to their best league start in more than a decade.

Rovers head into their clash with Montrose tomorrow second in League Two after collecting nine points from four games.

Only unbeaten pacesetters Arbroath are above them and boss Young is determined to keep up the early momentum.

He said: "We inherited a good squad in the summer and brought a couple of players in to increase the competition for places in the team.

"We are just taking it a game at a time, but we are delighted with our start.

"To be honest, myself and Sandy Clark are probably still learning as much about the players as they are us.

"Hand on heart, I'm not sure if we know our best team. We are there or thereabouts.

"We were confident that we could get a good start and thankfully that is the case.

"One of the positives is that although we have had a good few weeks we are confident that we can play better and do better as a team.

"I think there is a lot more for the boys to give and there are a lot of positives for us. We are getting better every week and hopefully we can keep it going this weekend."

After notching their third straight win with a hard-fought victory over Queen's Park last month, Albion saw their purple patch halted due to the international break.

So Young can't wait to get back down to business at Links Park this weekend.

The 35-year-old said: "It would have been nice to have had a game last weekend and allowed us to hopefully keep the momentum we have built up going for another week.

"But the break gave us a chance to work on a couple of things and hopefully we will see the benefits of that.

"We have worked hard and got some good sessions in so we are all looking forward to the game on Saturday now."
