KILMARNOCK'S Tope Obadeyi believes he can take his goal tally into double figures this season - with a little help from Alexei Eremenko.

The English forward bagged a double a 3-0 win over Partick Thistle and now has three goals for the season.

His second goal on Saturday was set up superbly by Finnish playmaker Eremenko, and Obadeyi predicts he will continue to benefit from his talented team-mate's assists.

He said: "Everyone can see Alexei has ability. He's a quality player. You know you just have to make a run and he'll put it on a plate for you to score.

"I don't really set myself targets, I usually just take every game as it comes.

"But hopefully I can get on the scoresheet again in the games coming up and get myself into double figures."

One target Obadeyi is happy to set is for Killie to finish the season in the top six. They currently sit in fifth spot.

He added: "Our team here has a great balance of youth and experience.

"It's showing in the results we have picked up. I think we'll do well this season.

"The aim is to finish in the top six in the Premiership, maybe even higher."

Next up for Allan Johnston's side is a tough Friday night encounter at Rugby Park with leaders Dundee United.

But Obadeyi is sure they will approach the game with even more confidence.

He said: "The manager asked for a response after we lost in the cup last midweek.

"We came out and showed we have quality in our squad. It was nice to keep a clean-sheet and get a result.

"We know it's going to be a tough game here on Friday, as United are doing well.

"But we are doing well ourselves and the aim for us is to keep that going."

Obadeyi netted either side of the break, with defender Manuel Pascali also claiming a rare goal for Killie.
