LOUIS LONGRIDGE hopes Hamilton can clinch three-in-a-row as they look to secure seventh spot in the standings this weekend.

Martin Canning's side made it two wins from two post-split matches on Saturday as they beat Kilmarnock 3-2 at Rugby Park to maintain their five point advantage over Partick Thistle.

If Accies can see off the in-form Jags at New Douglas Park, it would guarantee they finish seventh in their first season back in the Premiership.

Thistle will make the trip to Lanarkshire on the back of a 3-0 win over St Mirren that secured their top flight status for another term.

But Longridge is confident Hamilton can complete a welcome hat-trick as they continue their recovery from a lengthy winless run that cost them a top six berth.

He said: "It is good to win another game and build on the win over Motherwell.

"We just need to keep it going. We will focus on the next game and try and get some momentum.

"We were disappointed to find ourselves in the bottom six but we couldn't dwell on that and we just had to focus on the games we had to finish the season off.

"We have given ourselves a good start, we have had two games and won both.

"We want to finish as high as we can, which is seventh. That has been the focus since we didn't make the top six.

"It will remain that way and hopefully we can win each of the games that remain.

"It will be a tough game [on Saturday] but we are improving each week and getting a bit of confidence.

"We will focus on them during the week, get some good training sessions under our belt and treat it like any other game.

"Hopefully we can go out there and we are good enough to win."
