Hamilton goalkeeper Michael McGovern is looking to capitalise on any lethargy in Celtic's ranks tomorrow after the Parkhead side's exertions against Inter Milan.

Celtic battled back to secure a thrilling 3-3 draw against the Italian side in the Europa League last 32 first-leg tie, and McGovern is hoping Accies can tap into any hangover that might be present in Ronny Deila's side.

And McGovern, who came through the ranks at Celtic as a kid without ever establishing himself in the first team, believes Accies need to try and get the game going at a decent tempo.

"It can work two ways, I think," said McGovern. "You can think that they might be on a bit of a high after putting in what was a really good performance against Inter Milan, or that they might be feeling it a bit after coming off a game like that to play us.

"You have to hope that it was a gruelling game because it looked as though it was played at a furious pace for the whole 90 minutes. If so, then we've maybe got a wee chance to try and catch Celtic off guard if we can try and take the game to them."

Accies have already shocked Celtic on their own turf this season when they enjoyed a 1-0 win over the Hoops when Alex Neil was in charge.

Since that purple patch, however, Accies have struggled for form and have not won a league game since the beginning of January.

McGovern, though, is adamant the mood within the squad is upbeat, and the fact there is no pressure on Accies in terms of their league position means that they can focus on playing their way out of the rut they are in.

"Because of our early-season form we can afford not to let it get to us too much," he said. "I think the football we are playing is good, but we need to start taking our chances.

"There is no pressure on us tomorrow because no-one would expect us to win there again. But that can work in our favour, I think.

"We have shown already this season that we are capable of going and getting something, but I think the key in games like this is belief. You can't afford to go into the game fearing that you are going in to be walked over.

"You need to be prepared to stand up and be brave on the ball and take any chances that come your way. You also need a wee bit of luck."

McGovern is still friends with Charlie Mulgrew, who will miss the game because of injury, and Parkhead goalkeeper coach Stevie Woods.

But he hopes to get the last laugh, adding: "Charlie and I have a bit of banter sometimes on Twitter while Stevie is another guy I have known for a long time.

"He was the youth coach when I was at the club and he was brilliant with me - look at what he done with Fraser Forster.

"He is a great guy who really helped me in my career in the early days, but I'd still like to get one over him tomorrow."
