STEPHEN McMANUS admits it is vital that Motherwell hold on to boss Stuart McCall.
The Fir Park gaffer has been linked with a move to Crystal Palace to become Neil Warnock's right-hand man.
McManus said: "I have said before how well he has done. He does a tremendous job at the club with the budget and resources he has got.
"You want to keep your best players at the club but, more importantly for a club like ours, you want to keep hold of your manager. Hopefully it is just paper talk and he can stay on as boss."
