JIM DUFFY was delighted with Morton at both ends of the park as they moved to within a point of the League One summit on Saturday.

Goals from youngster Jon Scullion and Andy Barrowman clinched victory over leaders Forfar at Cappielow.

Greenock gaffer Duffy said: "It is great to get another win and another clean sheet - that is three in the last four home games.

"It was a terrific strike from Jon and it is always nice to mark your starting debut with a goal."

At the top of League Two, Queen's Park halted flag favourites Arbroath in their tracks with a 2-1 win at Gayfield.

Shaun Fraser and Kevin Fotheringham were on target for the Spiders as they closed to within five points of Allan Moore's side.

QP boss Gus MacPherson said: "The rest of the league will be delighted with this score because Arbroath have been running away with the title until today.

"We are thrilled too, but we aren't getting carried away. My players have come a long way in the least few weeks and long may it continue."

Elsewhere, Clyde bounced back from their Scottish Cup shocker against Spartans with a 3-0 triumph at Montrose.

Scott Ferguson, Euan Murray and Aidan McIlduff were on target for the Bully Wee and assistant boss Bob Malcolm said: "We needed a reaction from the players and we got it.

"We are now in the top four and that is where we want Clyde to be."

Clyde are now six points adrift of third placed Albion Rovers after they were held to a goalless draw at East Fife.

Manager Darren Young said: "I'm disappointed we didn't test their goalkeeper enough."
