MORTON have their League One title destiny in their own hands as they prepare for a shootout at Stranraer on Saturday.

Jim Duffy's side beat relegated Stirling Albion 2-0 at the weekend as strikes from Jamie McCluskey and Declan McManus moved them up to second spot in the standings on goal difference.

And the Greenock gaffer is relishing the Saturday night flag shootout at Stair Park as the Ton gear up for the biggest 90 minutes of their campaign.

Duffy said: "We always thought it would go to the last day. We have competed as well as anyone since the turn of the year and we are still in it with two games to go.

"All three teams will still believe they can win the title. I am sure Forfar would prefer the two of us to draw this week. But we will go for it and see who comes out on top.

"This division is so cut-throat there is no game you can expect to win. Stirling were relegated last week, but they competed well and were desperate to win."

On the day that Forfar lost top spot in the table as they went down 1-0 at Peterhead, Morton ensured they wouldn't slip-up at Stirling as they clinched a huge three points.

And boss Duffy was pleased their change of approach after the break paid dividends at Forthbank.

He said: "We had to adapt to the conditions. The pitch was really bobbly and it was difficult for us to get the ball down and play.

"We wanted to play too many passes into the middle of the pitch and it wasn't working for us in the first half.

"We had to miss out the middle in the second half. It is not something we wanted to do, but it is something we had to do."
