DUMBARTON boss Ian Murray is hoping the power of positive thinking will keep his men from hitting Rock bottom today.

His team will head through to Livingston knowing a defeat for them, and a win for Cowdenbeath at Raith, would see the Sons sink to the foot of the Championship.

That potential outcome is the result of a poor run which has seen Dumbarton lose their last three games, including the 3-0 defeat at Queen of the South last week.

It's a prospect Murray is not ready to entertain, however. And he is keen to build on positive work done during the week in training to stop the rot this afternoon.

The Sons manager said: "We did not get the rub of the green against Queen of the South, but we played poorly overall.

"The match at Livingston is now vital. A win will pull us away from both Livi and Cowdenbeath. But, if we lose, we could finish the day at the bottom of the league.

"We will need to be positive. The boys responded well this week in training, so we are reasonably confident. Livingston won't make it easy for us, but every game in this division throws up a challenge."

In League One, Morton will be hoping familiarity continues to breed success when they return to Airdrieonians for the pair's fourth meeting this season.

Jim Duffy's side won Tuesday's Scottish Cup replay in Lanarkshire 2-0 and will welcome back Joe McKee and Declan McManus.

A win for the Ton could, if results go their way, see them go top of the table by this evening.

Meanwhile, Queen's Park, Albion Rovers and Clyde are all looking to consolidate their promotion play-off places in League Two.

Second-placed Spiders travel to ninth-placed Elgin City on the back of five successive victories.

Barry Ferguson's Clyde, now in fourth place, are favourites to take all three points as they welcome East Stirling to Broadwood. The visitors, under Craig Tully, have not won a match since September.

Darren Young's Rovers face a much trickier task as table-topping Arbroath visit Cliftonhill.

Young, whose side sit third, said: "Arbroath are top on merit. They have scored the most goals in this league and have done very well.

"But we will concentrate on ourselves and our own jobs. The players know the relevance of this match and we go into every game looking to win."
