ALEX NEIL hopes he will have a full squad to choose from when Hamilton return to action after the next international break.

The Accies boss welcomed back Jesus Garcia Tena and Mickael Antoine-Curier for the 4-0 win over Motherwell on Saturday but was without Martin Canning and Darian MacKinnon through injury and suspension respectively.

Neil's side face Celtic on Sunday before the Premiership shuts down for a week and the New Douglas Park boss could have a few selection headaches for the Friday night clash with Aberdeen next month.

He said: "Martin has not been far away, Jesus made it on Saturday, MAC came back on Saturday and Darian will serve the last game of his suspension [on Sunday] so we are getting to the stage where we are starting to get people back.

"Jon Routledge is improving and he is joining in now in training.

"We are getting to a stage, hopefully, where either at the Celtic game or after it - because we have got a week's break - that I am expecting to have probably all of the squad fit.

"That will make my job easier and harder at the same time."

With several of his experienced stars still sidelined, Neil used the Well double header to blood some of the next batch of Hamilton kids.

Eamonn Brophy started the League Cup triumph over the Steelmen while Darren Lyon also featured and Greg Docherty came off the bench at Fir Park.

Neil said: "It is good to be in a position to be able to do that and when I get an opportunity and chance, that is what I will try and do to bed them in.

"They will only learn and improve from playing games at this level so I was really pleased to do that."
