DARREN YOUNG was satisfied with a point on Saturday - despite seeing his side lose top spot in the League Two standings.

Albion's winning run came to a halt at Shielfield as they were held to a 1-1 draw by fellow promotion hopefuls Berwick Rangers.

It has been an impressive start to the campaign for the Coatbridge club and boss Young was pleased to see his side battle their way to a share of the spoils as Mark McGuigan cancelled out Paul Currie's opener.

Young said: "We did lack a bit of punch, but to be fair Berwick are the best side we have faced. In the end this was a really well-won point for us."

Rovers are now second in the table as they were leapfrogged by Arbroath following their 5-2 win over Clyde at Broadwood.

While the Red Lichties moved into pole position in the title race, Barry Ferguson's side now prop up the fourth tier standings after another disappointing defeat.

Scott Ferguson netted twice for the Bully Wee but Brian McQueen's red card proved costly for the Cumbernauld club.

Clyde have collected just four points from their opening five games and Ferguson, who added former Motherwell youngster Euan Murray to his squad prior to kick-off, has urged his squad to step up to the plate.

He said: "If we had kept 11 men on the park we could have won.

"I can only do so much and it is time some of the players stood up and took a bit of responsibility themselves."

Clyde are two points adrift of East Stirlingshire and three behind Queen's Park following their 2-2 draw with East Fife.

Darren Miller and Paul Woods were on target for the Spiders and boss MacPherson said: "We had some really good attacking play."
