IAN MURRAY hopes Dumbarton can bring Alloa back down to earth with a bump today.

The Wasps face Murray's side just days after their heroic win over Rangers at the Indodrill Stadium.

The Sons are just a point above their hosts in the Championship standings and the Rock boss can't wait to get back to action.

Murray said: "We gave the players last weekend off whereas we would normally have had a training session. It was time to re-charge the batteries.

"The build-up to the match has been positive, though we will need to be wary of how they will react to their midweek win against Rangers.

"They will undoubtedly be on a high.

"If we win, we push six points clear of Alloa and that is a good incentive going into the game."

Elsewhere, Morton return to League One duty aiming to banish the memories of their own cup shocker last weekend.

The Ton were beaten by Spartans seven days ago, but face a tricky trip to Stranraer as they look to maintain their place at the top of the table.

Boss Jim Duffy is poised to field keeper Grant Adam as a trialist and is expecting another difficult day.

He said: "I think away to Stranraer is probably the toughest match we could have picked up in this division at this moment in time, if truth be told.

"They're a good side and Stevie Aitken has done a fantastic job there, as good a job as anybody has done with any club in any division. You can't deny that.

"To finish third last year and to be challenging again this year is a real achievement."
