AARON BARRY insists he is in no rush to return to Sheffield United to impress the incoming Blades boss.

The defender has been a crucial figure for SPFL Championship side Dumbarton in the opening weeks of the new season following his summer switch north of the border.

While it has been a solid start to the campaign for Ian Murray's side, Barry's parent club have struggled in England's League One.

Former Rangers captain David Weir was last week sacked as Bramall Lane boss, with Nigel Clough strongly tipped to take his place in the dugout.

Barry splits his time between Sheffield and Scotland each week and the Dublin-born stopper is happy to remain at the Rock.

Barry said: "I am sticking to my routine of being down in Sheffield Monday to Wednesday and then driving up on Thursday morning for training and the game on a Saturday.

"It is a lot of travelling but it is only up and down once a week.

"It is what I have to do to get some games. I think I will finish my loan and then look at things. I am playing games and I am enjoying it at Dumbarton.

"The new manager hasn't come in at United yet so when he does we will maybe look at things. We will see what happens. But hopefully things will continue as they are just now.

"I haven't spoken to Davie since he left, I'm sure he has a lot on his mind.

"When I did get the chance to work with him, I thought it was really good.

"I haven't got a bad word to say about him, I enjoyed working with him.

"They won the first game and then I don't know what went wrong after that.

"It just didn't work out for whatever reason. That is football for you."

Murray's men head to Falkirk tomorrow afternoon aiming to bounce back from their 4-1 defeat at the hands of Dundee last weekend. And Barry is relishing the challenge of shackling the in-form Bairns.

He said: "I am enjoying playing in the Championship. It is different to what I have been used to.

"It is great to have something to look forward to at the weekend and being able to play regularly. I am feeling better every week.

"Last weekend was disappointing for us. The first half was pretty dull and then it all kicked off in the second half.

"We played Falkirk in the first game of the season and drew 1-1. It was a good game and one I enjoyed playing in.

"They are a good team, one of the best we have played, so we are looking forward to the challenge this weekend."
