James Marwood has become the latest player to leave St Mirren in January.
The forward failed to score in 15 appearances since moving from Gateshead in the summer and struggled to get in the team in recent weeks.
A club statement read: "It has been agreed today that James Marwood's contract has been cancelled by mutual consent to allow James to continue his career elsewhere."
Marwood wrote on his Twitter account: "Agreed with the club today to leave on mutual terms, got so much love for people there learnt a lot! Hope yous stay up!"
Caretaker manager Gary Teale has so far allowed four players to leave this month. Loan pair Adam Drury and Ellis Plummer both returned to Manchester City and forward Ross Caldwell also cancelled his contract.
Teale has also put his playing career to one side to focus on his managerial duties, which have included bringing in striker Yoann Arquin from Ross County.
Arquin is free to play against Dundee United on Wednesday night in Paisley despite being sent off on his debut against his former club on Saturday, after Saints challenged the decision.
