ALAN STUBBS hopes victory at Ibrox can be the springboard to Hibernian's season after they kick-started their title bid with a 3-1 triumph over Rangers.
The Easter Road side were deserved winners as Jason Cummings bagged a brace and David Gray netted before Nicky Law replied for the Light Blues.
While Hibs are still 10 points off the pace being set by Capital counterparts Hearts, Stubbs' side have given their hopes of promotion a huge boost.
It is the second time the Leith outfit have impressed in Glasgow this term after turning in an solid showing in their Petrofac Training Cup defeat in August.
And Stubbs is determined to use last night's triumph as the foundation for more success after a tricky start to the campaign.
He said: "We have had results that we didn't expect, especially the Alloa game when we didn't perform.
"We were the first to admit that we really dropped below the standards we have set, and against Queen of the South a little bit.
"Apart from that we have performed well and we could easily have taken points from the games.
"The lads took a lot of confidence from our last performance at Ibrox when we feel we should have taken something from the game. To come here and win 3-1 is great for them.
"At the end of the day, it is three points and we are not going to get too carried away. It puts us up in amongst it. Hopefully this can be a springboard for us.
"I have always believed in the players. Some people might raise an eyebrow or jump on it but the players have been fantastic since I have come in."
