THE SPFL Premiership table most certainly does not lie.

No matter the results across the top division today, Hamilton Accies will still be top come tea time - and nobody could begrudge them another few days, at least, in the spotlight.

A 3-0 victory over Aberdeen moved them four points clear of Dundee United and continued a remarkable start to the campaign that has seen them rewrite the history books. The bubble hasn't burst yet.

Only Inverness Caley have taken full points from them this term and, while you are unlikely to hear anyone inside New Douglas Park say so, they are now surely guaranteed another season at this level.

Ambitions about where they will finish come the final reckoning will be played down, but Hamilton's momentum shows no signs of slowing.

Two goals from Tony Andreu and a late Mickael Antoine-Curier effort clinched the three points against Derek McInnes' side and it was, once again, no more than Alex Neil's side deserved for a superb show.

They were committed from the off, hassling and harrying a Dons outfit in need of a spark this season, but it was the hosts who would shine.

There was little to get excited about in the opening stages, but that changed on the quarter-hour mark as Accies took the lead, Antoine-Curier and Dougie Imrie combining and Andreu firing home from close range after Aberdeen failed to clear their lines.

The French midfielder almost had a hand in the second goal of the evening, but not as he planned. His shot from the edge of the area was blocked, with the ball ricocheting straight through the middle of the park, allowing Adam Rooney to burst clear.

He could not beat Michael McGovern, however, his shot straight at the keeper as Neil vented his fury at his defence and the home crowd breathed a sigh of relief.

Just seconds later, the Accies keeper pulled off another crucial save, David Goodwillie this time the Dons villain as Aberdeen spurned another glorious chance to pull themselves level.

Rooney would spurn the visitors' final chance of the half as he miscued at the back post and was then smothered out by McGovern, and it could have proved costly right on the whistle as Ali Crawford's tame shot was saved.

It was no surprise to see Dons boss McInnes turn to his bench in search of inspiration at the break as he shuffled his pack and introduced Peter Pawlett to the Reds' attacking line.

But he had even more thinking to do just eight minutes into the second half as Accies doubled their lead and Andreu doubled his tally for the night.

Danny Redmond burst down the left flank and had plenty of time to pick out the Frenchman in the area before Andreu made no mistake as he rolled the ball into the bottom corner to put Hamilton in control.

If Antoine-Curier had been able to connect with Crawford's cross just minutes later, the third goal would have clinched the three points.

The arrival of Nial McGinn gave Aberdeen another lift, but a goal continued to evade them as the Northern Irishman came close with a header and a curling free-kick.

There was a third goal of the night, however, and it was the one which put a shine on the scoreline for Accies, Antoine-Curier netting with his last touch.

A louder cheer soon followed as victory was confirmed for Neil's table-toppers.
