MICHAEL TIDSER has clinched a shock Morton return following his release from Rotherham United.

The midfielder has agreed terms on a two-and-a-half year deal at Cappielow and could make his second Ton bow in the crunch promotion clash against Dunfermline tomorrow evening.

Tidser enjoyed a successful three year spell in Greenock and was a key part of Allan Moore's side that went head-to-head with Partick Thistle for the First Division title in season 2012/13.

At the end of the campaign, he made the switch to Rotherham in a reported £50,000 deal but never recaptured the same form that made him a hit at the Ton.

After loan spells with Ross County and Oldham Athletic, he was released from his contract earlier this month and Morton have now swooped to bring him back to Cappielow.

Tidser follows Grant Adam, Ross Caldwell, Ross Forbes and Peter MacDonald in joining Jim Duffy's side as he looks to guide his side back to the Championship at the first attempt.
