TOMMY CRAIG is hoping that practice will make perfect for his misfiring St Mirren stars.

The Buddies manager has bemoaned a lack of cutting edge to his side's play in recent weeks as they have struggled to find the back of the net or pick up points.

Saturday's home clash with bottom-of-the-table Ross County is next on the agenda for the Saints as they look to find a spark to kick-start their Premiership season.

And Craig knows the Paisley squad must all play their part in helping his side hit the goal trail.

He said: "What we have struggled with since the start of the season is still with us and that is a lack of goals.

"We have not been playing that badly, apart from two games.

"But the fact we are creating chances and not taking them is coming back to bite us. We have to put our chances away.

"There were not that many chances against Inverness last Saturday, but there were a couple of occasions where I thought we could have done better.

"We have to get back among the goals if we are to win games and move up the league table.

"We work on it all the time but, once again, we needed that finishing touch at the weekend.

"However, this is not a problem for the forwards alone. It is a team thing.

"We need to get used to putting the ball in the back of the net again.

"We are doing that in training and now we have to take it into the games, starting on Saturday against Ross County."
