JIM DUFFY will step up his search for attacking reinforcements after striker Andy Barrowman was crocked in Saturday's cup triumph over Spartans.

Youngster Cameron O'Neil hit the only goal of the game at Cappielow to clinch a Petrofac Training Cup second round berth.

But Duffy's debut win as Ton boss was overshadowed when Barrowman limped off during the first half.

Duffy said: "We'll wait and see how Andrew is, but it leaves us a bit short now.

"We are an inexperienced side as it is, so it doesn't help when your main forward goes off.

"Believe me, we have tried to get someone else in, but there just aren't that many types of forwards available.

"I was delighted for young Cameron, though. He took his goal really well."

Duffy wasn't the only new boss to get off to a winning start at the weekend, with Albion gaffer Darren Young enjoying a debut to remember as his side dumped rivals Airdrieonians.

Rovers twice came from behind against their Lanarkshire neighbours as Ally Love and John Gemmell netted before Young had the final say from the spot.

He said: "To beat your arch-rivals and score the winning penalty in your first game as player- manager is brilliant."

Elsewhere, Dumbarton threw away a two-goal lead as they crashed out at the hands of League One Stranraer.

First-half goals from Jordan Kirkpatrick and Mark Gilhaney weren't enough for the Sons and boss Ian Murray said: "I decided I would change things at half-time whatever the score was, but our defending was poor.
