Dundee United travel to Inverness tomorrow without Paul Paton and Mark Wilson.

The club has announcing an investigation into their conduct after reports about an attack on Celtic goalkeeper Lukasz Zaluska.

Wilson has said he tried to defuse a situation involving Zaluska in the early hours of Monday before helping his former Celtic team-mate, who was injured in an assault in Glasgow's Ashton Lane.

Police are investigating but have refused to comment on reports another Scottish Premiership player was involved.

Wilson has not played for United's first team this term after injuring a foot but played 90 minutes when their development team beat Hearts 6-3 on Monday.

Paton was last week named Scottish Premiership player of the month for September.

After United launched an internal investigation into the players' conduct, McNamara told them to stay away from training and will not take them to the Highlands.

McNamara said: "It's best to keep them out of the limelight, with the attention that's surrounding it."

He said the club will hold an internal investigation and added: "It's more a disruption if they're here at the moment.

"My focus is Saturday and that's why we decided to do that, to get the rest of the players ready for the game, because to me that's what we're here for, to play games of football."

United chairman Stephen Thompson will not lead the probe starting on Monday - but he could be involved if a player challenges the club's decision.

Thompson said: "I am not going to prejudge anything at all. Everyone will get a fair hearing.

"We will sit down with the individuals concerned and ask them their version of events and decide if there was a breach of any of the club's policies or employment law.

"There are parties involved in the investigation from the club - I'm not involved and will not be part of the decision."
