Craig: ability gives Neil old head start

ABERDEEN manager Craig Brown has praised counterpart Neil Lennon for his growing maturity as he takes Celtic from strength to strength.

The Parkhead side travel north to face a Pittodrie side who are only one point behind them in the SPL table.

Lennon may be 31 years Brown's junior, but the former Scotland boss believes the success of the champions has been aided by the Northern Irishman's growing experince as Celtic boss.

"Neil is no fool," said Brown, "and I don't want to patronise him as he beats me.

"He was on the coaching courses I used to do in Ireland and he was outstandingly knowledgeable and great on the pitch.

"It's no surprise to me he is doing so well with Celtic. He is calmer but just because you don't dive about on the touchline it doesn't mean you are not passionate."

The Dons manager added: "To be in touch with Celtic who are champions-elect in my book at this stage of the season is good.

"We have to get a victory tomorrow to stay where we are or at least not lose the game."
