LEWIS GUY has vowed that St Mirren will do everything they can to put the relegation issue to bed when they host Dundee on Saturday.

John Brown's side will come to Paisley trailing Saints by 13 points and having conceded 27 goals more than their hosts.

The Tayside team have enjoyed a significant upturn in form since Brown took over at Dens Park and have suffered just one loss in a run that included a 2-1 win over St Mirren six weeks ago in Tayside.

But Guy said: "We are determined to put Dundee to bed on Saturday and make sure all of our focus after the game is on trying to nail down seventh place and our best-ever SPL campaign.

"We know that they will come here realising that this is their last chance to haul us back and stay alive and they will bring a big support with them.

"But it is up to us to get the job done and make sure we don't allow the relegation issue to linger on for another week.

"We will be going all out to be positive and try to take control from the start. Three points is the priority and nothing else will do."

The former MK Dons hitman is hungry to end the season in free-scoring fashion.

The 27-year-old said: "We have five games left and I just want to focus on finishing as strongly as I can.

"I have another year on my deal – the more positive my finish is to this season, the better the platform that would give me into next term."
