At the end of my first season as Celtic manager, we ended up trophyless.

We finished second in the league and had lost in both the cup finals – but I still kept my job.

There was, though, a big difference to the situation Tony Mowbray will find himself in if Celtic lose to Kilmarnock in the Active Nation Scottish Cup quarter-final tomorrow.

The Hoops team I managed had finished second in the Premier League to a very good Aberdeen team.

Crucially, we were ahead of our Old Firm rivals Rangers.
