When Norwich City boss Paul Lambert tells you that he’s not interested in a return to Scotland, even if Celtic come calling, you begin to wonder how far the appeal of the SPL has dropped?
Lambert highlighted a number of reasons this week for his blank refusal to even consider a return home in the future, but money, repetition and abuse were high on the agenda.
It will become even more difficult in the future to recruit half-decent players, never mind managers, to Scotland as League One, Championship and Premier League in England offer greater competition and financial rewards.
There’s no way out of playing each other a minimum of four times a season here because no matter how many people call for change it won’t happen in the current financial climate.
