Celtic winger James Forrest today received his first Scotland call-up.

Forrest was included in the squad named by manager Craig Levein for next week's Carling Nations Cup double-header against Wales and then the Republic of Ireland, both in Dublin.

Levein has also called up Norwich defender Russell Martin for the first time, while Leeds striker Ross McCormack returns to the squad.

Forrest made his first-team debut a year ago, but really broke into the Celtic team under manager Neil Lennon this season and scored three times in 23 appearances in additon to helping supply their strikers.

He has previously appeared for Scotland at Under-19 and Under-21 level and could earn his senior debut in either of the games in the Aviva Stadium.

Levein named his squad at Hampden this morning. Scotland began their three-match Carling Nations Cup campaign with a 3-0 win over Northern Ireland in Dublin in February.

The most recent game was the 2-0 loss to Brazil at Arsenal's Emirates Stadium in March.

Next week's games are against Wales on Wednesday and the Republic of Ireland on Sunday, May 29.

Scotland captain Darren Fletcher, who has returned to fitness following injury, has been omitted from the squad as the matches clash with Manchester United's Champions League Final against Barcelona at Wembley on May 28.
