THE FA have denied allegations from John Terry that they forced him into quitting international football.
The defender claims the FA made his position untenable as they are pursuing charges against him.
But Alex Horne, general secretary of the FA said: "I don't see how we've made it untenable – they're two very separate processes.
"It's something that happened in a match between QPR and Chelsea. It is a different process. I could separate the two in my mind. Unfortunately it doesn't look like he could."
Terry has been hearing evidence in his disciplinary hearing over allegations he racially abused QPR's Anton Ferdinand.
