GREGOR TOWNSEND says is not concerned by Glasgow's 49-27 defeat at Sale Sharks in Mark Cueto's testimonial match.

A Warriors side missing all of its Scotland contingent shipped seven tries.

Peter Murchie, Tommy Seymour and Peter Horne all touched down for Glasgow with Ruaridh Jackson adding two penalties and a conversion and Scott Wight kicking the other two conversions.

Next up for Warriors is Thursday's final friendly against another English Premiership side, Exeter Chiefs, with the game taking place at Ayr's Millbrae ground.

Head coach Townsend said of Saturday's loss: "There were a number of positives and obviously a number of things we must work on.

"But Sale had all of their big- name signings out and were fielding their strongest possible side while we have our Scotland contingent to come back.

"Although we had a youthful side out there, they will have learned a lot and that will be reinforced over the next few days prior to the Exeter game.

"I was particularly pleased to have James Eddie, Peter Horne and Ryan Wilson all back from injury.

"That was a huge positive for us and Peter took his try particularly well.

"I also felt that our set-piece was good early on, but we dropped off a few tackles and Sale punished us as you would expect from a side packed with their quality.

"James also did really well considering he has been out for seven months and had to come on early to replace Tim Swinson. But we have to use this as a building block and I will be looking for us to lift our level against Exeter on Thursday."

Townsend has no doubt where Glasgow must improve for their meeting with the Chiefs.

He said: "We must make our one-on-one tackles. Whether it is line speed or systems we have to make sure we miss none. If you don't make your one-on- one tackles your defence is compromised and you are put under so much pressure.

"That is what happened at Sale. But we have the guys who were out on the Scotland tour to come in.

"They are desperate to play and will be out there at Millbrae on Thursday.

"It will not be a case of wholesale changes and a good few of these who played against Sale will stay involved.

"But I made the point that we would use the two friendlies to utilise as many of our squad as we can and that remains the case."
