BRAEHEAD CLAN ace Adam Walker has banned his grandfather from any of his games this season – in the hope it delivers trophy success.

The 26-year-old winger has vowed to stop any of his matches turning into a family affair after he has failed to win a match for Clan while his elder has been watching on.

The latest appearance came in Sunday's 7-2 Autumn Cup defeat to Fife Flyers, and as the side limber up for their Challenge Cup tie with Belfast tomorrow, Walks is keen to avoid another defeat.

"My family came to watch me on Friday and saw me on Sunday," the ex-Manchester Pheonix star explained.

"My grandad never really comes to watch me but when he does we always lose. He chose Sunday to come along to see me and we didn't win again, so he'll be getting told to stay away."

This is Walker's third season with the Braehead Arena side and he is sure this could be their year to finally prevail.

Following their play-off finish last time out and the exit of player/coach Drew Bannister, Clan have regrouped with Jordan Krestanovich at the helm with Clan fan favourite Jade Galbraith as his No.2.

And despite Galbraith's arrival in the UK being halted due to red tape, Walker is confident that ex-NHL star Krestanovich is the right man to lead Braehead to this year's title.

"Jordan is at the stage of his career where he wants to get more and more into a coaching role and try to make a name for himself in that part of the game," he said.

"I think he's looking to build something special here. He's got a very laid- back approach, it must work for him as he has played in the NHL. But it seems to be having a positive impact on us all."
