DTH Van der Merwe believes the gelling process has started at Glasgow.

Warriors have stormed back from successive defeats in their first two outings of the season to beat reigning PRO12 champions Ospreys in Wales.

They backed that up with a maiden home win at Scotstoun on Friday over Connacht.

Next up for Gregor Townsend's troops are newly founded Italian outfit Zebre, at Scotstoun on Friday.

Canadian wing Van der Merwe is keen to make it a hat-trick of triumphs and claim a win that could take Warriors into the top four for the first time this term.

DTH said: "The gelling process is well under way.

"The lads are starting to work out each other's strengths and things are coming together.

"We we knew that with the level of change that was undergone over the summer it would take a while for things to settle.

"It is up to us to make sure we keep that going with a win over Zebre."

Van der Merwe claimed the Man-of-the-Match award after he bagged a brace of tries for the second week on the bounce, and he is hungry for more against the Italians.

He said: "The momentum is building and it is vital we keep it developing. The one thing you know about any Italian side is that they will be committed and very physical.

"They are yet to win in any of their three opening games, and that will make them even more determined on Friday, so we will show them every respect.

"But we have taken the first step to making Scotstoun a difficult place to come with the win over Connacht, and we can take that on again with another victory over Zebre. That is the target."
