GLASGOW A-Plant Tigers will be without Shane Parker for this weekend's speedway double-header against Workington and Kings Lynn.
With Ross Brady and Josh Grajczonek injured, Tigers could have done without the loss of their skipper who has injured his back.
The Glasgow side are away at Workington tomorrow evening to ride against the league leaders, while title-favourites Kings Lynn are Sunday's visitors to Ashfield Stadium.
TOUR DE FRANCE: Charles Wegelius will be the fourth Briton to take part in this year's race having been called up by the Silence-Lotto team to replace Thomas Dekker.
He has been excluded after a negative dope test given in 2007 was re-examined and he tested positive for the banned blood-booster EPO.
Wegelius joins fellow Britons Mark Cavendish, Scotland's David Millar and Bradley Wiggins on the start line in Monaco tomorrow.
GOLF: Anthony Kim made a bright start to his defence of the AT&T National title at Congressional Country Club, but will have Tiger Woods right behind going into today's second round.
Kim shot a course-record, eight-under-par 62 to set an early target for the late-starting Woods, whose 64 took him to second place.
Woods was making up for lost time having missed last year's second edition of his own event, which benefits the Tiger Woods Foundation and honours US servicemen and women, due to injury.
ROWING: Glasgow followed up their fine showing in the opening day of the Henley Royal Regatta when their coxless four powered to success against Nottingham in the Wyfold Cup event.
Glasgow now move into today's quarter-finals and will row against the formidable Star Club from Bedford, who eliminated Mitsubishi from Japan.
