NEW Motherwell boss Jim Gannon has made his first signing by snapping up Tranmere Rovers midfielder Steven Jennings on a one-year deal.
Gannon had been impressed by the player's Coca-Cola League One performances against his Stockport County side in recent seasons and moved quickly to land him.
The 24-year-old completed a medical at Fir Park last night, but has not signed in time to be involved against Llanelli in a Europa League qualifier at Airdrie tonight.
Gannon officially took over at the Steelmen on Tuesday and has vowed to make six new signigns to bolster his depleted first-team squad.
Meanwhile, former Motherwell defender Brian McLean has becxome Eddie May's first signing as Falkirk boss.
The former Rangers kid, who left Fir Park when his contract expired in the summer, has agreed a two-year deal with the Bairns.
The 24-year-old was also a target for St Mirren, but the player was impressed with May's vision for the future of the Westfield club.
He said: "I have great ambitions to do well in this game and so does the manager. We want to get better as a group of players and I believe we can do that."
May targeted McLean, who recovered from a serious knee injury last season, after Steven Pressley retired and Gerard Aafjes and Dean Holden left the club.
He added: "Brian is already a very good centre-half, but hopefully we will enhance him."
Elsewhere, Clyde have named former Ayr boss Neil Watt as their new Director of Football.
The Second Division club hit the headlines when they revealed the position would be unpaid.
Watt will begin his role at Broadwood on August 1 ahead of the 2009/10 campaign.
