Buying a new outfit in Glasgow could send a child to school in Kenya, thanks to a charity set up by entrepreneur David Sibbald, 51, and his wife Catriona, 53, 10 years ago.

The couple loved travelling around Africa – but wanted to help improve the lives of some of the poverty-stricken people they met, especially the youngsters.

So when David made a fortune selling his computing firm 10 years ago – he off-loaded Atlantech Technologies to Cisco Systems for £114million – the couple, from Newton Mearns, put some of the proceeds into launching the Johari Foundation.
