DONATING money to charity has never been so relaxing... thanks to a beauty academy in the West End.

Caledonian Therapy Academy, which trains beauty and holistic therapists, is offering free treatments in return for a donation to the Big Build, the Evening Times backed appeal to help raise £8million to build a new Marie Curie Hospice for Glasgow.

The academy, which is based at Sauchiehall Street, near Kelvingrove Park, is ofering a range of massage sessions every Friday between 11am and 3pm, just as long as you dig deep for this worthwhile cause.

Academy owner Louise Prunty has more reason than most to help out with the appeal. Louise said: "We realise the invaluable service the Hospice offers. My late grandmother, aunt and mum's best friend were all cared for by the wonderful Marie Curie staff."

The current hospice, in Springburn, is now more than 30 years old and desperately needs replaced with a modern building.

The new hospice, which will cost £16m (£8m of which has already been secured), will be based in the grounds of Stobhill Hospital.
