FOLLOWING a tremendously messy festive trilogy of parties, the Electric Frog returns this weekend to light up your Easter with a double-header bash at SWG3.

On Saturday, the excellent Simian Mobile Disco unleash their dancefloor-destroying analogue house and bleepy techno; legendary Primal Scream producer Andrew Weatherall and Soma Records favourite Ewan Pearson go back to back and New Jersey house producer Todd Edwards brings his cut-up garage styles to the Finnieston railway arches.

Sunday promises German minimal duo Pan-Pot and their pitch-black techno, alongside veteran Chicago house producer Derrick Carter, while local legends Slam and "Inspector Norse" himself Todd Terje pop up earlier in the evening.

YOU'LL also find Slam at The Arches this weekend, along with – it seems – every other dance act in the world.

Tomorrow, Pressure features Detroit techno's minimal godfather Robert Hood and the ubiquitous Animal Farm.

Saturday sees Colours bring Swedish producers Alesso and Otto Knows – two of the biggest names in dance – to the same venue, with an embarrassment of supporting talent.

On Sunday, the venue will surely struggle to contain hordes of techno fans as hard dance kingpin George Bowie, his GBXperience and his many acolytes take over the Argyle Street half, while hipster electro crew Numbers take over the Midland Street side for their Easter special.

It features riotous producer Rustie and his maximalist, neon energy, Detroit man Omar S and local hero Jackmaster. One word for that: chaos.

LEVELONE'S all day sessions are enduring in more ways than one.

They've been wearing out shoe soles for years now, with a tight-knit community of DJs and punters ensuring a relaxed and friendly vibe.

The Golf Lounge, in West George Street, is Sunday's incongruous venue from 1pm onwards, with the "First Lady" of house Lisa Littlewood, Colours' Iain "Boney" Clark and captains Kris Keegan and Ian Stirling on duty.

Later, the action moves to the nearby Buff Club, where Subculture's Harri will be on hand to keep things moving until 3am.

EVEN Optimo are at it with the Easter specials. Their guest at the Subbie on Sunday is Cologne's Barnt, a producer of raw, simple techno.

His latest release, Tungsten, is at once dark and playful: ominous synth lines jar with a syncopated beat, while last year's top track, Geffen, was straight up psychopathic.

And while it'll be the last Sunday Optimo for quite a while, the boys are back next Friday for their regular bi-monthly night.

l Optimo: Easter Sunday Special with Barnt, Sunday, The Sub Club, 11pm-3am, £9 before 12, £10 after.
