CHAMBRE 69 is dead, but it's not buried yet, so long live Chambre 69!

The pain of the Nelson Mandela Place club's sudden disappearance has been stemmed by the news that some of the team have assembled a new pop-up club, called Make Do.

It'll host many of the nights that called the Chambre home: among them Naïve, Bad News, No Sleep, Philanthrobeats and Balkanarama.

Stockholm's Axel Boman and producer of "sub-aquatic acid house" Cottam are due to feature at the new venue's launch night on Saturday, with Detroit house producer Marc "MK" Kinchen and Ostgut Ton label boss Nick Höppner set to play in the next few weeks.

l Make Do Launch: Not So Silent with Axel Boman and Cottam, Saturday, Make Do, 95 Hope Street, 11pm-3am, £7

Love Disco?

MILLION Dollar Disco's Al Kent made his DJing debut at the tender age of 15, when he hired a community hall and put on his first party.

He hasn't looked back since: his love affair with disco, house and soul has taken him to clubs in locations as far flung as Paris, Berlin and Barcelona.

In 2010 he released Disco Love, a compilation of rare disco and soul cuts, to widespread acclaim from critics and musos alike.

The third instalment in the series continues the "uncovered gem" theme, and it's free for the first 50 disco fans through The Berkeley Suite's doors at a launch party on Saturday.

Before that though, online clubbing journal EQ:TV host another free party in the same venue tomorrow night.

Sterling Stirling spinner Kristian Elliot will join residents Andy Morrison and Dug for a short but sweet midnight to 3am session in North Street's hippest hidden hangout.

l FREE:EQTV, tomorrow, The Berkeley Suite, 12am-3am, free
