The Detroit techno stalwart is no stranger to SWG3, having played at the EF Street Party back in September 2011 alongside Derrick May and Frankie Knuckles.

This time he's joined by Slam – who need no introduction here – local techno favourite Hans Bouffmyre and rising Paisley producer Lindsay Green.

On Boxing Day, the Hillhead Book Club hosts an Electric Frog party: a more house and disco-based affair, with guests including Moodymann (another Detroiter), Floating Points, Auntie Flo, Melting Pot's Andrew Pirie and Thunder Disco Club's Rory.

On New Year's Day, SWG3 will again be the scene of the Electric Frog New Year's Day Blowout, but let's worry about that next week, shall we?

n Electric Frog Christmas Warehouse Party, Saturday, SWG3, 9pm- 3am, £18

n Electric Frog Boxing Day Party, Wednesday, Hillhead Book Club, 4pm-1am, £15

If we're going to worry about anything, it should be the imminent destruction of all mankind, which is scheduled for sometime tomorrow, according to the ancient Mayan calendar.

If the apocalypse does come, this End of the World Party in Stereo's fortified basement is as good a plan as any to see it out.

The Girobabies and Echo-Bass play live with The Wise Goldfish, Wardy & Serotonic from Paisley's Club 69, Technogramm and Graeme Coils Djing into the wee hours.

In the unlikely event that we're still here on Saturday, A Rave In A Manger is free, in the same venue.

It features house and hazy, blissed out beats from the likes of Thrust Club and Codeine Drums.

n The Apocalypse: End of the World Party, tomorrow, Stereo, 7pm-3am, £5

n A Rave in a Manger, Saturday, Stereo, 11pm-3am, free

Expect a typically tasty house set from 14-year Sub Club veteran Harri.

Downstairs, in the newly-renovated Buff Low Café, Mash – of Mixmag fame – will be spinning more house, with support from the Levelone residents, Lee Armstrong and Billy Jones.

n Levelone Christmas Party feat. Harri, Sunday, Buff Club, 11pm-4am, £5
