Schoolgirl Claire Philip has joined up with Royal Marine Commandos in the run up to Valentine's Day.
The troops decided to show their soft side as the romantic day approaches.
Along with their partner charity, Glasgow the Caring City, they have produced a two-track CD called The Light That Brings Us Home.
It was inspired by a new stained-glass window in the charity's headquarters in Cathcart Old Parish Church which is dedicated to Commandos who have given their lives for their country.
Claire, 17, of nearby King's Park Secondary School, recorded a haunting version of the Burns classic My Love Is Like A Red Red Rose and Blair Douglas, formerly of Runrig, donated an instrumental track.
And this week, two of the Commandos based at HM Naval Base Clyde, met up with Claire to pick up an advance copy.
Unit Chaplain, Rev Mike Hills said: "Claire has a lovely voice and the song is a timeless declaration of love. It is better than any bunch of flowers."
He now hopes service people and their friends and families will send a copy of the CD to loved ones all over the world.
