Russell Brand has claimed the "Sachgate" controversy in 2008 erupted because of a bias against the BBC.
He said the incident, in which he and Jonathan Ross left lewd answerphone messages for actor Andrew Sachs, was exploited by elements of the media seeking to "diminish the BBC".
