Photographer Jamie Simpson got all the action at the Glasgow Schools Football Festival at Toryglen.

PRIMARY school pupils from across the city scored a winner when they won free tickets to see the Glasgow Cup final.

A total of 240 youngsters, from 24 schools, took part in the Glasgow Schools Football Festival after taking part in expert training sessions with top players.

Afterwards, more than 2000 tickets for the Rangers v Celtic match at Firhill Stadium on Monday were allocated to the schools.

Now in it’s third year, the festival celebrates the Glasgow Cup – a competition between Celtic, Partick Thistle, Rangers and Queen’s Park, and former Glasgow club, Clyde, who now play in Cumbernauld.

The clubs brought five primary schools from their area, except Clyde who brought four.

Playing over six pitches, the seven-a-side teams played against each other at Toryglen Regional Football Centre.

Under the expert eyes of all the professional clubs’ under-17s captains, they dribbled, shot and scored against each other in games that lasted 10 minutes.
