Independence referendum in September

Scotland will vote in the independence referendum on Thursday September 18 Alex Salmond revealed today.

The First Minister gave the date to the Scottish Parliament when the people will be asked one question. ‘Should Scotland Be an independent country? ‘

Anyone aged 16 or over who is eligible to vote will be able to take part in the first ever public vote on independence for Scotland.

After Glasgow has hosted the Commonwealth Games  the vote will be held.

Mr Salmond said: “That will be the truly historic Day for our nation. The day when the people will decide Scotland’s future.”
