Wicked adds extra dates

Wicked, the global musical phenomenon that tells the untold story of the Witches of Oz, has added extra performances to its Scottish premiere next year at the King’s Theatre.

With still a year to go before the show comes to Glasgow, ticket demand for the shows, has prompted theatre bosses to add matinee performances on May 15 and May 29, 2014 at 2.30pm.

Tickets are now on sale for the limited four-week season which runs from May 6 until May 31, 2014.

Recently acclaimed as “one of the most popular West End musicals ever” the record-breaking London production continues its open-ended run at the Apollo Victoria Theatre where tickets are currently on sale until 26 April 2014.

A spokesman said; “Wicked has already been seen by over 36 million people around the world and has six productions running concurrently.

“The original Broadway production is now in its 10th Anniversary year and the West End production is now in its seventh year at London’s Apollo Victoria Theatre, where it is already the 16th longest-running West End musical of all time.”

Wicked tells the incredible story of an unlikely friendship between two girls who first meet as sorcery students.

Their extraordinary adventures in Oz will ultimately see them fulfil their destinies as Glinda The Good and the Wicked Witch of the West.
