This once-in-a-lifetime opportunity has been made possible thanks to some of Scotland’s most luxurious wedding brands, who are together offering one lucky reader a whole host of prizes to create their dream day.

The setting for the day itself will be at Melville Castle, located six miles from Edinburgh. The castle boasts 32 en-suite bedrooms ideally suited for a bridal party, while the ballroom has capacity for up to 100 guests.

Over the course of the week beginning Tuesday April 1, readers are invited to collect tokens from the Evening Times in order to be in with a chance of winning. 20 finalists will then be selected, and put to a public text vote in order to be whittled down to 10.

From the 10 finalists, one lucky couple will be selected by a final text vote and will go on to receive prizes from the following brands to the tune of £10,000.

Melville Castle

One of Scotland’s most luxurious venues, Melville Castles is giving away not only its grounds and rooms for the ceremony and reception (for up to 50 guests), but also a wedding planner to ensure everything is left in capable hands and nothing is left to chance on the big day.

Etiquette Bridal Couture

Ensuring that the bridesmaids are every inch as glamorous as the bride, Etiquette Bridal Couture in Uddingston is giving away £500 of dresses to the competition. The bride can choose co-ordinating dresses for her ladies from the company, which stocks bridesmaids’ dresses from the likes of Lazaro, Veromia and D’zage.

Eleganza Sposa

Located on Bath Street, Glasgow, Eleganza Sposa has been a go-to for stylish brides-to-be for over 20 years, offering gowns from big names such as Stephanie Allan, Suzanne Neville and Ian Stuart. The company is giving the competition winner £1000 to spend in-store on their dream wedding dress.

Slaters

With multiple stores throughout Scotland, Slaters has a variety of options for grooms including kilts from its traditional Highland Dress range (including a comprehensive range of tartans) and contemporary suits. The company is giving away £800 of vouchers to be spent on outfits for the groom and groomsmen.

West of Scotland Cars

The lucky couple will arrive at Melville Castle in superb style, in a Bentley Arnage from West of Scotland Wedding Cars. Often used by A-list celebrities and film stars, the Arnage is a sure-fire way of making an entrance on the big day.

Liggy's Cakes

Choosing the cake has to be one of the best bits of planning the big day. Liggy’s Cakes invites couples to a tea and cake afternoon ahead of the event in order to choose their favourite combinations from a selection of options, including vanilla bean and raspberry, white chocolate with Irish cream filling, and lemon and poppy seed. The company will give a custom-made cake to the competition worth £400.
