ROCKERS The Fratellis have brought hope to teenagers with cancer.

Big-hearted Glasgow trio Jon, Baz and Mince, have promised to donate the profits of their new single to a new Teenage Cancer Trust unit at Yorkhill Hospital.

The record, which hit shelves on Monday, will go towards the £350,000 needed for a new unit.

And hundreds of lucky fans got a sneak preview of the single, Look Out Sunshine, during a one-off gig at HMV in Glasgow's Argyle Street yesterday.

The store released 300 special wristbands allowing fans access to meet the band and get signed copies of the single.

The Fratellis became involved with the cancer charity earlier this year when they played at the trust's Royal Albert Hall gig.

After meeting young patients there and at the trust's Beatson unit in Glasgow, the trio wanted to help more.

Frontman Jon said: "Teenage Cancer Trust do such a great job - we really want to help increase the amount of good work they do by adding further units in Scotland."

The new unit in Glasgow will care for 13 to 16-year-olds from across the west of Scotland and it's hoped it will improve survival rates. The facility is due to open next year.

There is an existing unit at the Beatson which already treats 16 to 24-year-olds.

Simon Davies, chief executive of Teenage Cancer Trust, said: "It's fantastic news to have a high-profile band such as the Fratellis backing our campaign."
