Comic and poet Robin Cairns recited some of his work from tram number 53 - and he even created some new material just for Evening Times readers.
The Glaswegian poet was in town to celebrate National Poetry Day and the reopening of the Coatbridge attraction, with poetry sessions entitled Tramlines at Summerlee.
Even with the rain pouring down around him, the man who has penned poems such as I'd Rather Be a Nudie Than a Hoodie made sure his damp audience had something to laugh about.
Robin spent the afternoon travelling from tram stop to tram stop with passengers reciting poems based around Glasgow's trams.
And it was smiles per mile as he unveiled A Jiggle, a Jouk and A Shoogle and his ode to The Summerlee Museum Tram.
The Evening Times is media partner for the renovated Summerlee Heritage Park, which was opened last month after a two year, £10million refit.
We caught Robin Cairns in full flow, reciting both of his new poems. Here's one of them:
A Jiggle, a Jouk and A Shoogle:A jiggle, a jouk and a shoogle, are hardly a thing you can Google,It's a thing from the past,As the trams rattled fast...To d'd'Dalmuir d'd Dalmuir through A'a' Auchenshoogle, a'a Auchenshoogle.
