IT was three minutes that will transform one woman's home.

An ecstatic Elizabeth Mclachlan was the first winner of our fabulous IKEA Trolley Sweep competition - and she managed to scoop more than £1000 worth of goodies for her home.

The 39-year-old hairdresser, from Greenhills, East Kilbride, was under starter's orders as she had three minutes to race around the store's Market Hall, collecting as many items for her home as possible.

And what a fantastic job she made of it - almost four trolleys full of a variety of items for her home, including a stunning painting, a rug and a collection of pots and pans for her kitchen.

Afterwards, an overwhelmed, but out of breath Elizabeth said: "That was very exciting, I got a lot more than I thought I would."

As part of her prize, Elizabeth was allowed to spend 30 minutes to pull together an action plan and make a mental note of the items she wanted to grab. Elizabeth's sister, Karen, was on hand to offer some advice and moral support.

Elizabeth added: "I didn't know where to start but eventually got everything I wanted.

"I was needing a few new things for the house so this is perfect. I'll give Karen one of the lamps for helping me out."

Elizabeth's three sons, William, 20, Barry, 12 and Declan, 11, were thrilled their mum won the amazing prize.

Elizabeth said: "They were all over the moon for me and sent good luck texts this morning."

There's no need to feel envious of Elizabeth's fantastic prize as there are another two chances for you to win this amazing competition. For each of the next two Mondays we'll be giving another lucky reader the chance to fill their trolleys at the IKEA Market Hall.

And Elizabeth has plenty of tips for next week's winner. She said: "Focus on getting the stuff you like and treat it as a bonus if you get anything else.

"It was worth a 50p text to win more than £1000 of stuff."
